HELPING OUR BULGARIAN ORPHANAGE
Hi  Guys

We are Berni & Dougie Leggett from Winyates Orton Goldhay and we wholeheartedly give all our attention to the children in the Dimcho Delelianov Orphanage in Bulgaria.  Many of you will remember us from last year when all you wonderful Freecyclers help us to fill a lorry load of goods for the children and we transported them over in Oct 08.  Well, this year, we are doing the same again only on a bigger scale, We have goods for our own Orphanage the Dimcho, also a Baby Orphanage, also the Silistra Hospital, and The Home for the Elderly and the people in our village.  We will be ready to ship the load over in Sept. Transports costs are our biggest problem, if we cannot get help with this, we will have to fund it again this year our self, We are getting a few donations via our web site  below, but have a long way to go yet, but every little helps .

As always Freecyclers are the first go give us 100% support all the time.  They have supported us in many ways, with all kinds of donations from clothing, toys, toiletries, electrical equipment to actually coming to our house and moving all the boxes to the TA barracks for us. Dave at Wolseley even supplies us with boxes. We are just amazed at the extent of the help we actually get from Freecycle, Almost everyday someone brings something and our regulars pop round when they have filled a box or two. Just wonderful people thanks you all so much.

This year we decided to do Christmas Shoe boxes for the children and again, we have had brilliant support from Freecyclers. Suzanne and the Cubs from the 1st DSJ Otters Cubs, made our lovely poster, which are laminated and we can use them all the time now for any fundraiser's.  The Cubs are currently filling some shoe boxes for us too. They are just wonderful, Thanks a million.

Also Maureen who runs the following groups 1st Orton Goldhay Rainbows, 1st Orton Goldhay Brownies and 2nd Orton Goldhay Guides.  They completed 18 wonderful shoe boxes for us (see pictures below)  they did really well and we would like to say a huge thanks to them for all their help.  The children in the Dimcho will be overwhelmed, can you imagine having a whole shoe box full of goodies all to yourself. :)

We have our own special 'Guardian Angles'  Captain Richard Cutworth, his superiors and the soldiers and their families from the 158 (ROYAL ANGLIAN) Tpt Regt RLC(V).  They also give us 110% support.  They store all our goods for us,  even the 40ft square marquee that Keith Bishop of Gl Events Snowdens donated to us.  We had photographs of when they delivered it to the TA.  The Evening Telegraph will be printing them alone with an article sometime this week, so watch out for that.  Again I will put this on the web site along with the photos below and any other photos we have of helpers.
.
We Berni & Dougie wish to thank everyone who has helped us again this year - you have been absolutely marvelous. Thanks to the Moderators and Robert the coordinator you have been wonderful to us. We could not do this without you guys.  The children, the director and staff will be so happy with the delivery. They have never had/seen  filled shoe boxes before, so can you imagine the excitement there will be Christmas, morning as this year, every child in the Orphanage will have a specially filled shoe box from all you wonderful people.  Thanks a million time over.  I will of course update you all later in the year.
